The Billboard Hot 100 was created in 1958 and served as a guide for this project to determine what classified as a one-hit wonder. There is no precise definition for a one-hit wonder, but for this project, it meant an artist that appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart only once. After curating a list of 10 songs that met that criteria, respective album packaging was designed, as well as an accompanying booklet insert.

The aim for this project was to create an anthology album of one-hit wonders that reached their popularity in the twentieth century. The artwork for both the record packaging and the booklet insert is meant to combine retro aesthetics with progressive storytelling. Contrasting the old with the new as time moves forward is part of what makes these songs intriguing. To juxtapose the music with its respective decade, technology was utilized in the design to better illustrate how these songs were being played.
